2XU Women's Triathlon

We're pleased to team up with the great crew at Tri-Events and announce that we're one of the major sponsors for the 2011 2XU Women's Triathlon. It's not until the 6th of March 2011 so that gives you heaps of time to train after the silly season has finished and get into shape for the race. We look forward to hearing from anybody that is interested in entering and hope to help with advice and excellent quality women's specific cycling equipment and apparel from Specialized (one of our co-sponsors).

Yeti's Galore

It's been a big week for our Yeti account this week with the first 2011 ASR 5 Alloy and ASR 5C coming through the store this week. However, the biggest commotion was caused by John's Big Top 29r. Having said that we still have a Large 2010 575 in Pewter that we need to find a home for. RRP is $5150 but we've knocked 10% off that.
Drop by the shop to see what all the fuss is about.

2011 Specialized starts now.

Today marks the beginning of a new page in the Wembley Cycles Story. We took our first delivery of Performance bikes from Specialized Australia. Whilst JC and Dan are living it up at Specialized Oz HQ in Melbourne this week Langy and Dave are working hard in the shop building some awesome new machines. First cabs off the rank are the Allez Elite and Stumpy FSR Comp.

The Allez Elite is fantastic value at $1699 and the 58cm bike we have weighs in under 10kg. Not many bikes in this price range can boast that kind of weight!

The Stumpy Comp is one of our favourite bikes in this year's range. The silver and black paint job is pretty classy and the spec sheet reads pretty nicely also. This is the first look we've had at SRAM's X-9 10 speed drivetrain and I can tell you its the bomb!

More 2011 Specialized bike to come over the next few weeks.

2010 Focus Road Sale

Time to find our 2010 Focus road bikes a home. So we are going to knock 10% off bikes we have in stock. We only have 2 Cayo's left a 54cm Campagnolo Athena and 58cm 105. Our last bike is a 56cm Variado Expert (105 spec). Give the store a call or drop in for a look and a fitting.

2010 Raven Expert in store

No bones about it, hardtails are back and as far as carbon hardtails go it doesn't get much sexier than the Focus Raven. This Shimano XT spec'd Raven Expert is only $4999.00 and is possibly the stiffest carbon frame you will ever ride.

The attention to detail is amazing, the oversized head tube and BB30 bottom bracket ar cool but the internal gear AND brake housing is truly trick!!

If you're lucky you might see our powerhouse staff member (Langy) smashing out the kilometers as he trains up for the Dwellingup 100 in September. Otherwise you can see it in store now.

Finally, 29r Tubeless Tyres

I was starting to wonder if I'd ever find Tubeless Specific Tyres for my new Niner MCR9. Then as I was doing some research on the specialized range of bikes I realized they had a lot of high end 29rs. So I got in touch with the distributor and they hooked me up with these Fast Trak 29x2.0 2Bliss tyres.

I'm going to try them out at the Wembley Cycles 6 hour this Sunday to see how they go. If you'd like a set they are a poultry $50.00 each. Much cheaper than most 26" tubeless ready tyres.

Em's Power Cookies

We are now stockists of Em's Power Cookies. These cookies and bars are an awesome snack for when you're out on the bike on a big ride. Check their website for all the nutrition details, all I know is that they taste really, really good. Hell, you'll find yourself digging into your stash when you're hungry at home and the bike is sitting in the shed. Also, they aren't heavy or chewy like traditional energy bars and the like. We've currently got the 'Oat Explosion' bar in the shop. We've tried the Peanut bar and the Cookie and they're all good. If you ask nicely, we'll get some into stock ASAP.

New Wembley Cycles cycling kit

From Blogger Pictures

We are super excited about our brand new cycling kit that turned up before Christmas. We have jerseys and a few pairs of bib-knicks in store. The clothing is all made in Australia by Triple Play clothing and it looks and feels great. Our friends at Mooba, The Wembley Hotel and Survey Results have been a great help to us over the last few years and we feel proud to represent them when we're riding and racing.

January Going Strong

Christmas is over and after a few well earned days off we are back at it full steam ahead. We are expecting our first 2010 Yeti's any day now with Dave's ASR 5C due first up! Needless to say he's been jonesin' for this one for a few months and can't wait to get on board. We have plenty of stock of Giant and Specialized bikes for adults and kids in store and ready to go.

We are also continuing our regular Wednesday night MTB rides from The Dell after a brief break for the holidays. We will be there from 7pm for a 1.5 - 2 hour ride on some of WA's best single track. All skill levels are welcome, all you need is your bike, helmet (of course) and a set of lights.

The staff of Wembley Cycles hopes everyone had a great Christmas and New Year and we look forward to seeing you out on the trails or on the road in 2010!
