The Trail Taste is our demo program and we kick things off with the 2009 Giant Anthem X1.

The Anthem X1 combines the best features of light weight race bikes and sturdy trail bikes. The 100m travel Fox forks are stiffer than most of its rivals. Match that with the square shaped down tube added to the 2009 Anthem's frame and you have one of the stiffest and most precise steering bikes on the market. The Shimano XT Drivetrain doesn't miss a beat and the X1's tubeless ready Mavic XM819 wheels are a rare inclusion on a bike valued at less than $4K. The Anthem X1 weighs in at 11.88kg for a medium frame.
